Why I built this
Growing up, I loved those adventure books where you got to decide what happened next. The thrill of being the one in charge of the story — turning to a different page based on your own choice — was unlike anything else on the shelf.
When I had children of my own, I wanted to share that feeling with them. But I quickly discovered something: they had opinions. Strong ones. They didn't always want the options they were given — they wanted to go somewhere entirely their own.
And when I actually listened to their ideas, they were wonderful. Wildly imaginative, funny, surprising. Their instincts for a good story were better than I expected.
So I built GrowJourn to meet them there. The child brings the idea — the hero, the seed of the adventure — and the app builds a world around it, one choice at a time. It's their story, shaped by their imagination, illustrated as it unfolds.
If your children are anything like mine, I hope they love it.
