Privacy Policy

GrowJourn is a choose-your-own-adventure story app for children and families. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. If you have questions, get in touch.

What we collect

• Account information — your email address, a hashed (non-reversible) copy of your password, and the date your account was created.
• Preferences — your battle-mode setting.
• Story data — the content of each story session you play, including every narrative turn and choice, linked to your account.
• Payment records — when you purchase credits, we record the Stripe session ID, credits added, and timestamp. Your card details are handled entirely by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.
• Session tokens — a short-lived authentication token stored in a browser cookie to keep you signed in.

Cookies

• growjourn_session — an essential cookie that keeps you signed in. It expires automatically and is deleted when you sign out.
• anon_story_played — a functional cookie set after you complete a story without an account. It is used to show a sign-up prompt on your next visit. It expires after 365 days. You can clear it in your browser settings at any time.

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

Third parties

• Stripe — processes payments. When you purchase credits, you are redirected to Stripe's secure checkout. See Stripe's privacy policy.
• Google Fonts — our pages load fonts from Google's CDN. This causes your browser to send your IP address to Google as part of the font request. See Google's privacy policy.

We do not use advertising networks, analytics services, or sell your data to any third party.

Children's privacy

How we use your data

• To provide the service — authenticating you, tracking your story credits, and storing your stories so you can replay them.
• To process payments via Stripe.
• To respond to support requests.

We do not use your data for advertising or share it with third parties beyond what is described above.

Data retention

Account data and linked stories are retained until you request deletion. You can request account deletion by emailing us at the address below. We will delete your account and associated data within 30 days.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, get in touch. We will respond within 30 days.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of GrowJourn after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
